Robben Island - Declared a World Heritage Site in 1999. Reached by ferry from the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Former South African President Nelson Mandela, and many other political prisoners, spent decades imprisoned here during the apartheid era. Tours of the island and prison (museum) are led by guides who were formerly prisoners there.
Cape of Good Hope - Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point offer spectacular scenery. The whole of the southernmost portion of the Cape Peninsula is a wild, rugged, scenic and generally unspoiled national park.
Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden – At the foot of Table Mountain, beautiful surroundings and perfect for a picnic day.
Camps Bay – Beautiful beach on Atlantic Seaboard
Seal Island - Bears its name due to the Cape Fur Seals that occupy the island. Treat yourself to a meal of freshly, grilled fish.
Vineyards – Suitable for a day excursion eg, Spier and Meerlust.
Muizenberg - wonderful, long beach, excellent for surfers.
Sport – numerous events take place regularly in Cape Town, and facilities for workouts etc are abundant.
Horse riding – Horse back riding is available at Noordhoek.
